In this era of medium-density-fiberboard (MDF) and other composite materials, real wood is to be preserved and cherished.
Technically, MDF contains a mixture of wood solids, wax, and resin bonded together under high temperatures and high pressure to create a uniform wood-like product that is far cheaper than real wood. It might look great, but scratch the surface, and you'll find garbage. Planned obsolescence!
In layman terms, MDF is sawdust held together with glue. And it's potentially dangerous. To read more about MDF, click this link. Why To Avoid MDF
The Personal Touch
Every piece brought in to us is treated with the utmost care and respect. Many refinishers "dip" furniture to remove all finishes, but this method, though quicker, is hard on the wood and can cause serious, and unfixable, damage.
Each piece we restore is done 100% by hand, giving it a personal touch, renewing the beauty of the piece and adding to its durability.
A Partner, not an Observer
You're a partner, not an observer, in the restoration of your piece. Before your furniture even leaves your home, our master craftsman will spend time with you discussing your requirements, explaining the process, pointing out possible challenges, and ensuring you're comfortable leaving your heirloom in our hands.
At least twice before it comes home again, you'll be invited to visit our shop, confirm your colour choice and view the finished product to ensure it meets your high standards. We know it will - since it will meet ours!
